Project Web2.0/AJAX - Fast Lane

Project description:
At Fast Lane Institute for Global Knowledge (www.flane.de) the project was about pimping up the existing electronic and web-based CMS for scheduling certification drives and other trainings with respect to the IT-world (e.g. CCNA, Microsoft, Oracel, ... ). That time EMAN was the electronic and web-based CMS for scheduling such certification drives which are offered and organized by Fast Lane. My project was about optimizing the whole information system in usability and especially in speed in order to lower the border of acceptance for office clerks. Hereat I have introduced object-orientated PHP implementation as well as AJAX in general. Before the system of the schedule overview has been loaded all at once which made the system pretty damn slow due to 'overloading'. After my incorporation of the interplay of HTML (Apache Server), JavaScript, PHP, and the MySQL database the loading time could be enormously reduced from about 2:20 min at the beginning to just 17 secs. at the end. Now the complete information of particular courses has even been loaded and transfered just on demand. This made the system nice and slim and lowered the user acceptance criterion drastically.
